Climate change is the defining challenge of our generation. We face an existential threat from rapidly changing climate. This will impact us in myriad ways we are only just learning about.
CONTECH-CA founder John Griffiths grew up in the UK to parents who lived through World War II and the subsequent rationing for a large part of their lives. John was raised in a household that valued natural resources and strived to minimize waste. This experience taught them to minimize waste, and to value natural resources.
Today, conserving resources and minimizing waste are at the foundation of CONTECH-CA. Our commitment to sustainability was recently recognized when we were declared a Certified California Clean Business.
We incorporate sustainability into all aspects of our business.
Our offices are powered by 100% renewable power via MCE Deep Green program.
Whenever possible and appropriate, we hold meetings by video call. When meeting in person, our first travel choice is to bike to meetings. When a car is needed, our cars are EVs charged using 100% renewable power.
John Griffiths has been lead electrical engineer for many groundbreaking sustainable building projects, including one of the first BREAM office buildings in Scotland, the first LEED hospital in California, the first I-Occupancy Microgrid in the US, and multiple LEED Platinum, Gold, and Silver projects.
Many of CONTECH-CA’s projects are essential facilities – hospitals, community centers, and data centers. We apply best practices to ensure our integrated designs provide resilient systems for today’s and, as best we can predict, tomorrow’s challenges.
