Hospital Generator Replacement Project

Providence Petaluma Hospital generator replacement project upgrades the hospital’s critical power infrastructure to achieve N+1 redundancy for Life Safety and Critical loads by installing two 600kW Caterpillar C18 generators operating in parallel. The condition assessment established a phased modernization concept that includes constructing new concrete foundations, replacing aging infrastructure like automatic transfer switches and fuel pumps, and integrating advanced level and leak detection systems. The site configuration strategically managed the demolition of abandoned equipment and the temporary utilization of an existing mobile unit to guarantee uninterrupted hospital operations, while carefully preserving space for future utility expansion
