Goals

Provide a robust electrical distribution for this unique site, including collaboration with renewables contractor
Work with multiple agencies involved in a project to ensure all of their goals were met
Develop electrical distribution concepts for the site distribution and layout, working with many unique site constraints
Provide electrical distribution system for current usage and the future
Provide energy monitoring systems to ensure an efficient operation of the site
Establish a clear and open communication with the many regulatory agencies involved in a project

Solution

Detailed site survey with contractor and owner for preparing as-built electrical information.
Verify existing conditions and identify operation issues and Code issues.
Define new distribution concepts and specify equipment to be replaced and incorporated into the system for improving load distribution, voltage drop, and metering.
Provide engineering support during the procurement & and construction stage.

Description

  • DCSI Mini Storage is located in Richmond, California; for almost 30 years, it has provided Self Storage Service, renting different sizes and types of storage spaces to tenants. The storage facility occupies a large site with a multitude of different distribution systems derived from a 800 Amp PG&E service
